Poetry Slam

The way he connected the original idea of sin to apples to the downfall of technology was amazing. Throughout the poem the speaker uses robotic motions with his body, it seemed intentional in that he demonstrates the strangeness in embracing technology as part of human socialization. When he talks about making him human again, his movement once again returns to what we would consider more organic.

The Dark

Night time. The life period sunken in depression. The low points in life. The Dark can also mean evil or the absence of everything. The repetition of " we're not gonna sit in the dark anymore." In the dark, everything becomes another unrecognizable silhouette. The meaning of coming in the light then means to take action, to speak, to make on visible. The Darkness represents inaction and being a bystander. There's also the quote that the "You" tries to keep "me" from the light, "You" is the system and it is preventing the individual, in the case. The light is some kind of goal that the individual wants to achieve.
