This is his life in New York, recording his poems into a handbook, "claiming words which gather time/answering life." "Let us be stricken with poems". His own inability to "visit you across the sea of disease between us" and that poems are the only way that he is able to communicate.

"Deaf heaven" and "bootless cries" suggests the overall hopelessness of his situation, furthermore he curses his fate. He wishes that he could someone with more hope, wishes that he could have the friends that this "man" has.

If the reverse were true, if his lover has no plans of abandoning him, "my love feeds on your love, beloved, and as long as you live it will be in your arms/ without leaving mine." As long as the love exists, the fire will continue burning, for both parties.

To think of another, another far worm, and his ownership of the skies.

He writes his visions for the Second Coming "A shape with lion body and the head of a man," the author describes the Second coming as a mythical creature rather than the Second Coming of Christ that most readers would be expecting. With the approaching beast, the author wonders what creature that could be, to be destruction to the world that has collectively sinned.

"a lone winter evening, when the frost/ Has wrought a silence, from the stove there shrills/The Cricket's song, in warmth increasing ever," even in the winter, the "poetry of earth" does not stop. The last two lines of the poem seem to be contrasting the cold drowsy winter cricket to the grasshopper "among some grassy hills." The author is saying that poetry of earth continues through the cycle of seasons, never ceasing.

The meter is best described as a loose iambic tetrameter, a poem containing four iambic feet, however, in almost every line an iamb is replaced with an anapest in different locations . The seemingly random anapest placements is what allows the poem to have a  more natural and conversational feel .

In the final stanza, the narrator imagines a time much later where he will recount his story to his probably grand children at the diverged roads . In line 16, "I[the narrator] shall be telling this with a sigh", the feeling of doubt presented throughout the poems seems to suggest that, no matter which path he chooses, he will recount this tale with regret as he wants to but does not know what he missed from the paths that he did not choose .

Lieutenant Cross blames himself for the death of Lavender. His fantasies regarding Martha became the distraction that led to the death of his squad mate Lavender. Cross' actions of burning Martha's letters and accepting blame for Lavender's death is symbolic.

A parallel is being drawn between tattoos and human interaction. Both are similar in the sense that, tattoos leave a permanent imprint on the wearer, likewise, human interactions and relationships leave a similar impact on the individual. The initial experience of receiving the tattoo will eventually fade away, leaving behind the art that is visible on the wearer's skin for the rest of their lives.  Tattoos, like life experiences, are a culmination of all the happiness and hardship the individual has experienced through life. In a sense, tattoos are the visual interpretation of being alive.

Night time. The life period sunken in depression. The low points in life. The Dark can also mean evil or the absence of everything. The repetition of " we're not gonna sit in the dark anymore." In the dark, everything becomes another unrecognizable silhouette. The meaning of coming in the light then means to take action, to speak, to make on visible. The Darkness represents inaction and being a bystander. There's also the quote that the "You" tries to keep "me" from the light, "You" is the system and it is preventing the individual, in the case. The light is some kind of goal that the individual wants to achieve.

The text talks about the "magic" and it appears in the ordinary events of life. Magic may possibly refer to dreams "in gridlock, loneliness" these ordinary everyday events spawn extraordinary things like Civil Rights Movement and mankind walking on the moon, these seemingly impossible tasks were made from this so called magic in the ordinary. The author links boring to popular fantasy stories, comparing an ordinary commute to changing the way the world views transportation. The last sentence serves to inspire even the most ordinary of us, the inspiration in office cubicles.

Maybe we just take ourselves to seriously sometimes. The truth is that the world will carry on without us, therefore we should just be in the moment for a little bit, take ourselves less seriously. Awol is a military term which stands for absent from one's post but without intent to desert. The idea of the absence of heart or soul makes more sense in this context, what happened to the things we used to do just for fun, what happened to the things we used to do without reason, where did our hearts go. Let go for one day, watch the world go on without us a little while.

This story feels like a bit of a disturbing love story. Love songs and poems always they will love someone till the end of time, and this story sort of extends that metaphor a little too far.  By being together after as ghosts, having forever together. "Until death dies", in other words till the end of the universe.

The point of contact reminded me of the times where lose something important and you finally find it after half an hour of frantic searching. But then again I don't use my soul to search for those objects. The soul may be suggesting something else, something that we usually relate to the soul and use the term"soul-mates".

Frost repeats the statement good fences make good neighbors, and although the poem uses a theme of division. The  idea that this part of land belongs to this individual and the other to the neighbor. It is a fence that is meant to separate, it might actually bring two people together with rules and boundaries.

Anarchy and joy, The author resents the lawful society and government. He wishes to be set free of all his chains. And to "cast away nationality, and declare himself the state."

Though from his youth to age he roam as free As winds, he dreams not freedom's ecstasy. "Cure for freedom's farms is freedoms still." Despite the hopelessness the author perceives his future to be, he or she still held onto the belief that "I am the mater of my fate: I am the captain of my soul"

The image depicts a child drinking from a water fountain with the text saying "our next precious resource". It is very likely to be aiming at adults to inform them. Water appeals to the pathos in that it is an essential variable in survival, living beings die from dehydration. The context is the water drought in California, which is important because, as well as being a Californian, California is also a big agricultural state, and that water is essential for both humans and the economy.

This video explains emotions and choice from a scientific perspective. For the longest time in human history, humans have believed that thought and emotions were not subject to science and reasoning. This video shows a side that all of our emotions are because of chemical reactions in a our brain.

Audience: The game wathcers. Purpose: To inform the watchers that there is a"severe weather condition" and that the game will continue after it has passed context: Pouring rain in LA, SoCal never sees rain and panics at the first drop. constraint: Ineffective sign Exigence: there was only a little drop of rain. Discourse criteria: It hasn't rained in a while in LA, people are freaking out over a natural weather event.

The way he connected the original idea of sin to apples to the downfall of technology was amazing. Throughout the poem the speaker uses robotic motions with his body, it seemed intentional in that he demonstrates the strangeness in embracing technology as part of human socialization. When he talks about making him human again, his movement once again returns to what we would consider more organic.

The movie excerpt highlights the ridiculessness of religion, the nonsensical reasoning behind each explanation contributes to the rising skepticism towards religion and in the minds of the court house guests.

Although some claim patriotism and nationalism are the same. In actuality they are very different. In fact history defines patriotism as an act of love your country to improve it. Whereas nationalism is the unconditional support of your country.
